Cooled semen litter helps break records!
We are very proud to announce that our cooled semen services recently increased the population of a rare breed, the Lucas Terrier. In June we sent cooled semen to Sacramento for a surgical AI. However, the doctor was unavailable for the surgery and the semen was used intervaginally. On August 19, 2010, Langford's Rhett Butler (pictured) sired seven lovely female puppies who will continue the fine legacy of their mother and father. Jack Terry, owner of Rhett, says this is the largest Lucas Terrier litter in USA and UK.

Flat Coat Fall at CCI!
Just as the leaves turn red and orange and hunters eagerly slip on their camos, hunting dogs everywhere rejoice!
This canine group is exceptionally diverse, and includes terriers, hounds, gun dogs, spaniels, and curs. In addition to celebrating a bountiful harvest and gorgeous red moon this November, Canine Cryobank is also delighted by the birth of seven frozen semen Flat-Coated Retriever puppies.

Season of Spaniels!
A high number of fruitless breeding attempts on one bitch is taxing for both the canine and owner alike. Well-known Clumber Spaniel breeder, Patti La Pittus knows this torment all too well. Her sweet three-year-old bitch, Ch. Whidbey's Devon Garland (Cassie), has never had a single season. Luckily, with Patti's dedication and love for Cassie, along with the help of Veterinarian Janet Moston and Canine Cryobank, Cassie became pregnant!

Soy Goodbye to Infertility
Yesterday night while walking through one of the new ritzy health-conscious grocery stores sprouting up on every corner, I was astonished to find soy in almost every product. The bean-based substance, which I happen to be deathly allergic to, was in everything from cheese and yogurt, to gelato and potato chips!

How do two puppies have a 30-year-old father?
It was a week day like any other at Dr. Dorota Pearson's San Marcos, California veterinary center. Folks in bright scrubs moved briskly yet with a relaxed confidence around the clinic, silently satisfied with their lot of working within close-quarters of animals each day.
